This semester of art had been a lot of fun and I feel like I have learned a lot. Over the weeks I've learned that all art doesn't have to be serious, and all art doesn't have to be 100% orginal. In fact, no artwork is. It was all inspired by something that saw or heard. Looking back on my pre-test and my post-test, my thinking on the questions and how all art is orginal has not changed. My drawing, on the other hand, has. The theme I used for both was "water". In my orginal, I drew someone drowning in a sea of mean words such as "dork" or "ugly". In my latest I drew a giant eel, labeled "life", and myself. Appropriately labeled "me". In the picture it had the eel swallowing myself with it's tounge. This shows how I have learned to be creative and use humor in my art. My favorite art project was when myself and another student made colored cornstarch ice cubes and melted them. It was really neat because we sprayed oil in the paper and the water avoided it. It turned out great when we made a stop motion out of it. My favorite part of this class was that we had a lot of freedom to choose what we wanted to create. We had a lot of materials open to us, so it was a lot of fun to play around with them and let our creativity flow. In the subjet of improvement, I would have liked our teacher to show us a little more about the types of art and how to use them. Overall this class was really great and I can't wait to take art 2.
