In this project, we were challenged to create a sculpture out of an every day object, but keep its original purpose. This was a very interesting project in the aspect that we couldn't just decorate it, we had to turn in into a sculpture. I had a lot of trouble coming up with an idea for this project. There was a lot of trial and error. I started out with clay, which didn't work out in the slightest. Then I decided to try quilling and see where it took me. I didn't have an exact idea in mind, since I prefer to work as a go and see how it turns out. Overall, I think it turned out really well. I did burn myself a few times with the hot glue gun, but in the end I think it was worth it. It took a long time to make all the quills. What inspired me to make this piece was the due date. If I had to pick a project, this wouldn't be it. But I do think I've grown a lot throughout the project and I've learned how to be more flexible in the way I think about things. I really did enjoy this project, but I'm also glad it's over.
